The short version
INCLUDED NEWS is a news website, not a data business. You can read everything we publish without creating an account. We collect the minimum information needed to run the site, keep it secure, understand roughly how it is used, and show the advertising that pays for it. We do not sell your personal information, and we never will as long as this policy stands. The rest of this page explains the details in plain language.

What we collect
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our servers and services record technical data when you visit:
- IP address, browser type and version, operating system and device type;
- the pages you visit on this site, the time of the visit, and the page that referred you here;
- coarse location inferred from your IP address (country or region, not your street);
- error and performance data that helps us keep pages fast and working.
Information you give us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. If we ever add comments, newsletters or accounts, this policy will be updated before those features launch, and each will collect only what it needs to function.
What we deliberately do not collect
No account is required to read the site. We do not ask for your real name, phone number, payment details or precise location, and we do not run invisible fingerprinting scripts of our own design to identify you across the web.
Why we use it
- Running the site: serving pages, balancing load, remembering basic preferences.
- Security: detecting abuse, bots, scraping and attacks. Server logs are our main tool here.
- Analytics: understanding, in aggregate, which stories are read and how readers arrive, so we can decide what to cover better. We look at patterns, not individuals.
- Advertising: displaying the ads that fund free access, including, where you consent, personalised ads served by third party networks.
- Correspondence: answering your emails and handling corrections, tips, and legal or privacy requests.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on legitimate interests for security, basic analytics and running the site; consent for personalised advertising and any optional cookies; and legal obligation where we must keep or disclose records.

Who else sees your data

- Advertising partners, which may process device identifiers and browsing data on this site to serve and measure ads, subject to your consent choices where applicable;

- A successor, if the site is ever sold or merged, in which case this policy continues to apply to data collected under it.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share reader data with data brokers.

How long we keep it
Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and then deleted or anonymised. Emails are kept while the matter they concern is open and for a reasonable period afterwards, longer if a legal issue requires it. Aggregate statistics that identify nobody may be kept indefinitely.
Your rights

We may need to verify that a request genuinely comes from you. If you are unsatisfied with our answer, you may complain to the data protection authority in your jurisdiction.
Children
This site publishes general news and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact support@includednews.com and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, access to systems is restricted to those who need it, and we keep the software we control updated. No website can honestly promise perfect security, so we promise the honest alternative: reasonable safeguards, and prompt notification if a breach ever affects your data in a way the law requires us to report.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, the new version is posted here with an updated effective date. Material changes will be flagged clearly on this page. Continued use of the site after a change means the current version applies.
